Directions to Veterans Admin. Hospital Ground, Bedford

Important Note: It is a Federal Offence to drive above the posted speed limits on the VA Hospital grounds and the security forces are VERY strict about this. They'll just as soon give you a ticket as look in your direction. Please stay below the posted speed limits!

From Boston

Take I-90 (Mass. Turnpike) to I-95/Rt.128 North. Take exit 31B (Rts. 4 & 225 to Bedford) from Rt. 128 and head north. Go past the center of Bedford (mall on the left, Ramada Inn, Dunkin Donuts on right), and past the CVS pharmacy on your left. Soon after you pass CVS, you'll go past a large shopping mall on the right hand side of the road. The store "Marshalls" and the grocery store "Bread & Circus" stand out in the mall. Make a right on the street immediately after the mall. There is a small sign to the V.A Hospital on the right at the intersection (If you miss this turn and come to a set of lights with Fleet Bank on your right, you have gone too far!). Keep going straight on this street through a 4-way stop sign and it will lead you right onto the grounds at the Hospital. Pull into the parking lot on the right and drive towards the south-east corner (i.e, straight ahead and to the left.) The ground will be ahead on the left by the golf driving range.

From the West

Take 290 or 90 east to 495 and take 495 north to route 2 east. Take route 2 east until you reach route 62 (signposted Bedford) and take this exit (on the left). Drive on 62 through Concord center (it gets a bit complicated here, so keep your eyes peeled for "route 62" signs. Take this road all the way into Bedford and it will merge with route 4. Follow route 4 towards 128, and at the first set of traffic lights you come to there should be a Fleet bank on the left. Turn left onto the road just before the bank (Springs Road). Follow Springs Road (it forks to the right) down the hill then turn left. At the four way stop sign go straight ahead into the hospital. There will be a large parking lot on the right. Turn in here and follow the road all the way round, turning left when you see the golf driving range in front of you, and if you can't see the ground by now, then you shouldn't be driving without glasses.
